Tours to Russia

From its revolutionary past through the Great Patriotic War to the collapse of Communism, Russian history is nothing if not eventful

Our tours visit the two main cities of Moscow and St. Petersburg where Russian history over the last century will form the core of our study. In Moscow we can explore the central Red Square, the Kremlin and St. Basils Cathedral.  We can also see the tank traps where German forces were held on the outskirts of the city.

In St. Petersburg, which until recently was known as Leningrad, we can discover the history of the 1917 revolution including the Battleship Aurora which fired the opening shots in the Bolshevik uprising.  We can also visit the famous Peter and Paul fortress and the opulent Peterhof Palace which was Peter the Great’s Window on the West.

Further afield we can organise tours to visit the historically important city of Volgograd, formerly known as Stalingrad, scene of the eponymous battle which changed the tide of WW2 against the Germans.

    Moscow & St. Petersburg

Russia's two most important cities, which are connected by rail, can easily be combined in one fascinating tour. Both cities have something different to offer. Moscow is the brash and cosmopolitan capital with gilded onion domed churches and the majesty of the Kremlin. St. Petersburg is refined, the 'Venice of the North' with its network of canals.
