  • Day 1

    Fly to San Jose

    On arrival you will be met by your guide and then transfer to your hotel.

  • Day 2

    Tortuguero

    This morning you depart from San Jose and drive east towards the vast Tortuguero National Park. In the afternoon you can explore the local village. In the evening, after dinner, you head down to the beach for a night time opportunity to see the Giant Turtles nesting, laying their eggs or coming ashore, or depending on the season you may see the young baby turtles making their first venture into the waves.

  • Day 3

    Tortuguero

    Today is a full day in Tortuguero. In the morning you go on a boat excursion on the canals to see the wildlife of the forests which comes down to the riverbank, including sloths, monkeys, great blue herons, iguanas and colourful lizards. In the afternoon you go on a hiking tour in the forests.

  • Day 4

    Travel to Arenal

    Today is a travel day. This morning you transfer out of Tortuguero by boat and are reunited with your vehicle at Cano Blanco where you have lunch. You then drive westwards to the Arenal Volcano area and your hotel. A long day on the road and a leisurely evening to relax.

  • Day 5

    Arenal

    This morning you do the Arenal Hanging Bridges Tour which involves a series of suspension bridges and walkways which go through the canopy allowing you to get up close to the upper elevations of the forest. We then continue to the nearby hot springs at Baldi. Situated beneath the Arenal volcano, Baldi has a variety of different hot springs ascending in temperature and situated amidst green, verdant forests and is a wonderful place to take in the fabulous views of Arenal.

  • Day 6

    Monteverde

    This morning you transfer by road to the Monteverde area. You have lunch at a local restaurant and then in the afternoon you do the famous zip line canopy tour. This involves a series of high wires which you zoom along through the forests whilst clipped into a harness. The activity is supervised by experienced guides and all safety equipment is provided.

  • Day 7

    Travel to Jaco

    This morning you depart from your hotel in Monteverde and transfer south to the town of Jaco on the Caribbean coast. After checking into the hotel and having lunch you head out in the afternoon for a Crocodile Safari by boat on the Tarcoles river. This is a crocodile hotspot and crocs will definitely be seen, from babies right the way up to giant 17 foot monsters.

  • Day 8

    Caribbean Coast - Turtle Project

    Today we take part in a community conservation project which monitors turtles in the Pacific area. The Pacific hosts one of the world’s most endangered species, the Eastern Pacific Leatherback. Since 1991 the project has been protecting the turtles who lay clutches of eggs every year from July to December. We will be able to help build nurseries to protect the eggs from predators and looting, take part in egg collection, scientific measuring and tagging turtles.

  • Day 9

    Manuel Antonio National Park

    This morning you drive south to the famous Manuel Antonio National Park. In the company of an experienced wildlife guide you will walk through the forests and see the wildlife unique to this area. Despite being one of the smallest national parks in Costa Rica, the variety of wildlife is extraordinary and includes tropical forests, lagoons, mangroves and pristine white sandy beaches.

  • Day 10

    Return to San Jose for homeward flight

    The morning will be leisurely as you prepare for departure and you homeward flight from San Jose
